#82 Twisted And Bent Horizons
Monday Aug 26, 2019
Monday Aug 26, 2019
Is the effectiveness of a camera's winding lever enough to justify keeping it, even though Simon can't take a decent picture with the camera for toffee? Is there a Novak in town? Can a plastic Soviet camera be somebody's soul creature? Clearly the answer is yes, but why...?

#81 The Noble Bokeh Panorama
Monday Aug 19, 2019
Monday Aug 19, 2019
We’ve seen much of Edward Noble’s excellent work in the Photography With Classic Lenses Facebook Group, so we asked him to join us for a chat about bokeh panoramas, Infrared, mono and false colour, and his prototype Zeiss lens. Plus, for those that like the less technical side of things, Johnny asks if bokeh panoramas are actually photographs…

Perry returns, but Simon disappears! Due to some technical difficulties at the Classic Lenses Podcast UK home office, we lose Simon part way through the episode, but Perry and Johnny continue on unsupervised. Perry shares tales of astrophotography and lobster rolls from his holiday in The Maritimes, and gets starry-eyed over his new Topcor 3.5cm lens. Johnny discusses finer points of the Canon IVSB, and pays tribute to his teacher and mentor, Barbara Crane. Bit of a rocky one here without Captain Forster at the helm, but the boys manage to make it through the shoals of episode 80.

Perry is still hitting the road to New Brunswick in Canada, so we've asked Eric Sluis to take time out from shooting all sorts of weird activities that go on outside his front door at Mons in Belgium, to take up the hot seat. Having postponed "The Nigel Cliff Question" from last week as it was simply too colossal for the time we had, Eric, Johnny, and Simon tackled the question, "Can a cheap lens compete with an expensive one?" Of course the answer is, "It depends" but extraordinarily, that phrase was not used. Find out our answers, assuming we understood the question...
